In the academic year 1996-97, along with B.Sc Zoology regular course(TM), Vocational subject “Biological Techniques and Specimen Preparation” was introduced and merged with English medium and was offered under the financial assistance of UGC and it was suspended in the year 2008-2009 and Regular B.Sc Zoology English medium is continued from 2009-10 onwards. A post graduation course of M.Sc Environmental Biology a self financing, evening college course was started in the year 1996-97, Since the course is inter and multidisciplinary, the students had to move to various colleges to get the help of subject expert for different papers and it did not meet the requirements of students academic contemplation, so this course was closed in the year 1999-2000 and then M.Sc Zoology regular course was introduced in 2000-2001 under conditional basis with the same staff strength of B.Sc Zoology and it is still existing now. During 2014-15, the department is raised to the Research level getting the affiliation for M.Phil Zoology degree course.
